Inspiring Leaders Class of 2019
👨‍🏫
Peer mentor with School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering (September 2018 - April 2019)
Volunteering at weekly mentoring sessions for level 1 and 2 chemical engineering students as well as one off events.
🏫
School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering Course Representative for Level 2 Chemical Engineering (September 2017 - June 2018)
The position of elected course representative was a challenging but enjoyable role. It was vital to communicate effectively between the student body and the university staff, this improved both my oral and written communication. Negotiation and diplomacy were key in order to reach compromises which satisfied both parties. Through this role I improved my confidence and public speaking dramatically which allowed me to successfully contribute to SSCC meetings in a meaningful way. The responsibility and the ability to implement changes made this role very rewarding.
